Jasmine + Ben’s timeless Tuscan wedding

A modern romance that began with an Insta DM that led Australian couple Jasmine + Ben straight to Tuscany for an elegant wedding. With both having Italian heritage, they knew Melbourne wouldn’t give them what they were dreaming of, so they gathered their closest family and friends and flew to the stunning Villa Catureglio. Over three days of chic celebrations, everything felt effortlessly stylish, from her couture gown and timeless décor to a surprise hair chop on the final day.
Love Story
“Ben actually messaged me on Instagram — very modern romance. We spoke constantly before meeting at a bar in Melbourne, and from that first night we ended up seeing each other every day for the following week.”
The Engagement
“Ben proposed during a stay at Lancemore Lindenderry on the Mornington Peninsula for our 7 year anniversary. We were walking along a beautiful pathway lined with Mediterranean cypress trees when he surprised me with the proposal.”
Why Italy?
“We both have Italian heritage, and after searching through Melbourne venues nothing quite felt right. Once we connected with Laura and Marilu from Laura Ferrari Weddings, we realised Italy would be the perfect setting for the wedding we had always imagined.”
The Venue
“Laura and Marilu shortlisted venues that could accommodate our guests travelling from Australia. We flew to Italy to view them, and the moment we arrived at Villa Catureglio we knew — it just felt perfect for what we wanted.”
The Planning
“From deciding on Italy to the wedding day we had about 18 months. We travelled over to choose the venue, meet vendors and taste menus, and then continued planning through late-night Zoom calls. Without Laura and Marilu guiding everything locally, it wouldn’t have been possible.”
The Style
“We wanted the wedding to feel timeless rather than trend-driven. While many European summer weddings lean relaxed, we chose black-tie elegance — reflected in the setting, outfits, menus, signage and custom details designed by Jasmine’s business, JAG Creative Studio.”
The Experience
“Having all our family and friends together overseas felt incredibly special. Over four days everyone woke up together, shared coffees and breakfasts — it felt less like an event and more like one big family experience.”
The Outfits
“Ben wore a bespoke Dormeuil suit by Germanicos Tailors in Melbourne. I wore a lace Couture Berta gown from Raffaele Ciuca Bridal and Jimmy Choo shoes. We kept everything elegant and timeless and loved how it came together.”
Best Money Spent
“Our planners, photographers and videographers. Planning an overseas wedding without local planners would be incredibly difficult, and investing in the right creatives meant we’ll be able to relive the day forever. We had Australian-based photographers Lou Lou Memphis and videographer Sommar Films as well as Content Creation by JAG Weddings (an extension of JAG Creative Studio), which was really important to us stylistically and helped capture the day exactly how we envisioned it.”
The Perfect Ending
The fireworks. We debated it for a while, but it ended up being unforgettable — standing over our millefoglie cake with fireworks behind us, we both got emotional. It felt like the perfect end to dinner.
Advice For Couples
“Enjoy the process. There will always be stressful moments, but try to stay present — some of our favourite memories were dancing in the kitchen after planning calls listening to our wedding songs.”
