Olivia + Kyle’s effortless wedding in Puglia

For Canadian couple Olivia and Kyle, it was right person, wrong time—until the stars finally aligned. After getting engaged in 2023, they began venue hunting with two clear priorities: an olive grove setting for up to 100 guests and on-site rooms for immediate family. With no specific region in mind, just a deep love for Italy—they found their perfect match in Puglia at Masseria Don Luigi, where they hosted an effortlessly stylish celebration that beautifully honoured their Jewish heritage.

The Love Story

“We met at 16 at summer camp near Montreal and reconnected over the years—through Mexico holidays, university, and mutual friends—until the timing finally clicked post-grad.

Kyle proposed on March 17, 2023, during a quiet beach walk in Miami, ring in hand and a simple, perfect “let’s get married, Olive.” He knew I wanted something intimate—just us. We celebrated with vino and pizza at Cecconi’s.”

Why Italy?

“We fell in love with Italy after our first trip to Sicily together. Since then, we couldn't stay away, and kept coming back and exploring different regions every year. My mom had also gotten married in Italy at La Pescaia (another one of our fave venues!) in 2018, and I had fallen in love with the idea of getting married in one of my favorite countries with only our closest family and friends.”

Stand Out Moment

“Standing under the chuppah with Kyle and our best friend, Jon, who graciously officiated the ceremony. His words were deeply personal to both of us, and it meant the world to us having him be part of our special day. Looking out at our closest family and friends, who all made the long journey to celebrate with us was truly magical.”

The Venue

“We had looked into many venues in various regions, and my step father ultimately found Masseria Don Luigi, and it all just seemed too perfect! I was determined to find a venue with an olive grove that would accommodate up to 100 guests, and one that would have room capacity for our immediate families. Don Luigi checked both those boxes, and so much more! We were also excited at the idea that we would be visiting a new region, and our guests wouldn't be able to say no to a trip to southern Italy.”

The Style

“We love simplicity, and wanted to keep focus on the natural beauty we were surrounded by, highlighting all the earthy tones. Candle lighting adorned the long tables creating a warm, inviting atmosphere, adding that romantic element to our day.”

Stand Out Supplier

“Our photographer, Chloe David, was the first vendor we booked, we found her through La Lista and we couldn't have been happier! Chloe captured every emotion so candidly and made us feel so calm and comfortable in front of the camera. She seamlessly fit into the wedding weekend, capturing the most beautiful moments of us and our guests (who also raved about her!). Chloe has a genuine sincerity and warmth to her, which made her feel like a close friend and not just an ordinary photographer.”

Hindsight

The only thing I would have considered had I known about it, would be hiring a content creator. While we had our incredible photographer and videographer, we would have loved to relive some of those moments the very next day, and have our guests put down their phones and enjoy being in the moment.”

Using La Lista

“We found some of our vendors by using La Lista like our photographer: Studio Chloe David and our musicians/DJ: Rinaldi Events.”

Advice For Couples

“Definitely do your vendor research. There are so many talented vendors out there, but finding the right ones that understand you, your vision and being surrounded by people that make you feel comfortable and happy on your day is most important.”
