It covers the directory, the magazine, our social channels, our newsletters and any events we run. Sections 7 and 8 also set out the standards we ask listed vendors and venues to meet.<\/p><p><strong>OUR PRINCIPLES<\/strong><\/p><p>We describe vendors, venues and ourselves accurately, and disclose when something has been paid for.<\/p><p>Our recommendations are our own judgement. Payment does not buy a place in the directory or a favourable word.<\/p><p>We treat couples and vendors consistently, and we apply the same standards to every listing.<\/p><p>We welcome every couple, and we expect the vendors we list to do the same.<\/p><p>We look after what is shared with us, and we respect the places and communities where weddings happen.<\/p><p><strong>HOW VENDORS &amp; VENUES ARE SELECTED<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A listing on La Lista is an endorsement, so every vendor and venue is assessed before it appears. A fee alone never secures a place.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before listing, we check:<\/p><ul><li>Quality of real wedding work.<\/li><li>Experience in Italy.<\/li><li>Legitimacy &amp; legality.<\/li><li>Fit to La Lista\u2019s audience.<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We decline applications that do not meet these standards, and we tell applicants so. We review listings annually and remove those that no longer qualify.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Members of the La Lista team do not assess a business they own, work for or have a close personal connection to. Any such interest is declared and the decision is made by someone else.<\/p><p><strong>TRANSPARENCY ABOUT MONEY<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Couples are entitled to know how La Lista earns its income and whether money has influenced what they see.<\/p><ul><li>Membership fees. Vendors and venues pay an annual membership fee to be listed once they have passed our selection process. Couples use the directory free of charge.<\/li><li>La Lista does not take commission or referral fees on bookings made through the directory.<\/li><li>Featured placement. Where a vendor has paid for a more prominent position, the placement is labelled.<\/li><li>Sponsored content. Paid articles, newsletter features and social posts are marked as sponsored or as an advertisement, in line with UK ASA, US FTC and Italian AGCM rules.<\/li><li>Gifts and hospitality. Our team may accept venue visits, tastings and stays in order to assess a business. These never guarantee a listing or coverage, and we disclose them when we publish about that business. Gifts are declared internally.<\/li><\/ul><p>La Lista expects every vendor and venue to be transparent about money.<\/p><p><strong>HONEST MARKETING<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everything we publish should be something a couple can rely on when they book.<\/p><ul><li>Accurate descriptions. Listing copy reflects what a vendor or venue offers. We do not overstate capacity, exclusivity, availability or experience.<\/li><li>Where prices or starting prices are shown, they are supplied by the vendor, dated, and state whether VAT is included.<\/li><li>Reviews and testimonials. We publish only genuine feedback from real clients. We do not write, buy, edit to change the meaning of, or selectively suppress reviews.<\/li><li>Photographs show the vendor\u2019s or venue\u2019s own work and are used with the permission of the photographer and, where they can be identified, the couple. Photographers are credited.<\/li><li>Styled shoots. Editorial and styled shoots are labelled as such and are not presented as real weddings.<\/li><li>When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and, where the error was material, say that we have done so.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>OUR COMMITMENT TO COUPLES<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Couples can use La Lista without pressure and without their details being passed around.<\/p><ul><li>We send an enquiry only to the vendors or venues the couple has chosen to contact.<\/li><li>We do not sell couples\u2019 contact details, and we do not share them with vendors who have not been contacted.<\/li><li>We do not use false urgency, invented scarcity or other pressure tactics.<\/li><li>We are clear about our role. La Lista introduces couples to vendors. The contract for any service is between the couple and the vendor, and La Lista is not a party to it.<\/li><li>We encourage every couple to get a written contract, check cancellation terms and take out wedding insurance.<\/li><li>If a couple reports a serious problem with a listed vendor, we look into it under section 12.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>WHAT WE OFFER AND WHAT WE EXPECT FROM VENDORS &amp; VENUES<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The relationship runs both ways: we commit to treating vendors fairly, and listed vendors commit to a code of conduct.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What vendors can expect from us<\/p><ul><li>Clear membership terms and pricing, with no hidden charges and reasonable notice of any change.<\/li><li>The same selection criteria and the same treatment for every business, whatever its size.<\/li><li>Respect for their intellectual property. We use images and text only as agreed.<\/li><li>Commercial information kept confidential.<\/li><li>A fair hearing before any listing is suspended or removed.<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What we expect from listed vendors and venues<\/p><ul><li>Accurate information in their listing, kept up to date.<\/li><li>Transparent pricing and a written contract for every couple.<\/li><li>Disclosure to couples of any commission or kickback received for recommending another supplier.<\/li><li>Compliance with Italian law, including tax, licensing, health and safety, and insurance.<\/li><li>Lawful and fair treatment of staff and subcontractors, with no undeclared labour.<\/li><li>Timely, professional communication, and delivery of what was agreed.<\/li><li>Handling of couples\u2019 personal data in line with GDPR.<\/li><li>Respect for other professionals, including proper credit for their work.<\/li><li>Compliance with the inclusion standard in section 8.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>INCLUSION &amp; NON-DISCRIMINATION<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Lista is for every couple. We take particular care with images of children.<\/li><li>We keep data secure, limit access to those who need it, and delete it when it is no longer required.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>SUSTAINABILITY &amp; RESPECT FOR PLACE<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Destination weddings bring income to Italian communities and also place demands on them, and we want La Lista to encourage the first without ignoring the second.<\/p><ul><li>We favour vendors who are based in, or have long-standing ties to, the region where they work.<\/li><li>We encourage local and seasonal sourcing for food, wine and flowers.<\/li><li>We expect venues and vendors to respect noise, fireworks, drone and heritage-site rules, and the neighbours who live nearby.<\/li><li>We do not make environmental claims about ourselves or our vendors that we cannot support with evidence.<\/li><li>We highlight sustainability credentials where defined and proven.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>USE OF AI<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We use AI tools to help draft and edit listing copy and editorial, and a member of the La Lista team reviews everything before it is published.<\/p><ul><li>Facts in a listing come from the vendor or from our own knowledge of them, never from an AI tool\u2019s assumptions.<\/li><li>We will never publish AI-generated images as photographs of a real venue, vendor\u2019s work or wedding.<\/li><li>We do not use AI to generate reviews or testimonials.<\/li><li>We do not enter couples\u2019 personal data into AI tools beyond what is needed to provide our service.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>RAISING A CONCERN<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyone can raise a concern about La Lista or a listed vendor by emailing hello@lalista.com.<\/p><ol><li>We acknowledge the concern within 3 working days.<\/li><li>We ask the vendor or team member concerned for their account.<\/li><li>We reply with our findings within 14 days, or explain why we need longer.<\/li><\/ol><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on what we find, we may ask a vendor to put something right, suspend the listing while the matter is resolved, or remove it. We remove a listing without a refund of membership fees where a vendor has acted dishonestly, discriminated against a couple, or seriously breached this policy.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Lista cannot resolve contractual disputes between a couple and a vendor, award compensation or give legal advice. We respect the copyright in every image on lalista.com, our social channels and our newsletters.<\/p><p>We aim to use a photo only with the permission of someone entitled to give it, and to credit the photographer wherever we know who they are.<\/p><p><strong>WHERE OUR PHOTOS COME FROM<\/strong><\/p><p>The photos we publish are:<\/p><ul><li>supplied by the venues and vendors we list, for their listings and features;<\/li><li>supplied directly by photographers, planners and couples;<\/li><li>publicly published on instagram, Pinterest and other channels; or<\/li><li>taken or commissioned by La Lista; or<\/li><li>licensed from image libraries.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>CREDITS<\/strong><\/p><p>We credit the photographer \/ videographer by name wherever we know it.<\/p><p>Sometimes a photo reaches us without the photographer\u2019s details and we are unable to trace them. A photo shown without a credit is never a claim that the image is ours.<\/p><p>If you are the photographer or videographer of an uncredited photo, please tell us. Useful evidence includes contracts, payment receipts, emails, messages, photos, or screenshots with timestamps. It includes direct evidence, not hearsay from other people or posts in other forums.<\/p><p>You&#8217;ve got 7 days from when we acknowledge your complaint to send us your evidence. If nothing comes through, we&#8217;ll close the complaint.<\/p><p><strong>SHARING NEGATIVE FEEDBACK IN OUR COMMUNITIES<\/strong><\/p><p>If you want to share a negative experience in our Facebook group or The Community, that&#8217;s fine \u2013 honest feedback is valuable for other couples. But please read this section first. Reviews can have real consequences for businesses, and for you if you get it wrong.<\/p><p>The full rules are in our Community Guidelines, but here are the key points:<\/p><p>Stick to facts you can back up. &#8220;The flowers arrived two hours later than the production schedule&#8221; is a fact. &#8220;They&#8217;re the worst florist in Italy&#8221; is not. If you make factual claims, be prepared to provide evidence if asked.<\/p><p>Be fair and balanced. If there were positives as well as negatives, include both.<\/p><p>Don&#8217;t exaggerate. Describe what actually happened, no matter how strongly you feel.<\/p><p>Focus on the service, not the person. Avoid personal attacks or offensive language about individuals.<\/p><p>Think twice if there&#8217;s an ongoing dispute. If you&#8217;re in the middle of a complaint, legal dispute, or chargeback, consider waiting until it&#8217;s resolved. Posting publicly during a dispute can complicate things and may expose you to legal risk.<\/p><p>Disclose any conflicts of interest. If you have a personal or business connection to a vendor (friend, family, received a discount), you must say so.<\/p><p>A word on defamation: Defamation is illegal in Italy. A review that contains false statements of fact, is exaggerated, or is written maliciously to damage a business could be defamatory. If a vendor believes they&#8217;ve been defamed, they may take legal action against you. Make sure you can evidence everything you write.<\/p><p>If your post doesn&#8217;t follow these rules, we may ask you to edit it or provide evidence, and we may remove it if you don&#8217;t. Repeated breaches could result in you being banned from the community. See the Community Guidelines for full details.<\/p><p><strong>HOW WE ASSESS COMPLAINTS<\/strong><\/p><p>We categorise complaints, whether they have been made to us or posted in our member communities, in three categories:<\/p><p>Minor \u2013 slow replies, small misunderstandings. We&#8217;ll notify the vendor and give them a chance to respond.<\/p><p>Moderate \u2013 proper service failures, or repeated complaints about the same vendor. We&#8217;ll investigate and may add a warning to their file.<\/p><p>Serious \u2013 no-shows, allegations of fraud, major contract breaches. We&#8217;ll investigate immediately and may suspend their Directory membership while we do.<\/p><p><strong>WHAT HAPPENS NEXT<\/strong><\/p><ol><li>We acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours.<\/li><li>If it&#8217;s a public post, we&#8217;ll comment saying it&#8217;s under investigation and turn off comments.<\/li><li>We notify the vendor by email within 24 hours and invite them to respond.<\/li><li>We ask both sides for evidence (you and the vendor have 7 days to supply this).<\/li><li>We review everything. For Supplier members, we assess whether they&#8217;ve met the professional standards in the Supplier Terms &amp; Conditions.<\/li><li>We tell both parties our decision within 3 working days of finishing. Investigations usually take up to 14 working days.<\/li><\/ol><p><strong>POSSIBLE OUTCOMES<\/strong><\/p><p>For Vendor members:<\/p><p>\u2013 Complaint not substantiated: complaint closed, and (if posted publicly) post removed<\/p><p>\u2013 Minor issue: noted on file, warning given<\/p><p>\u2013 Bigger issue: membership suspended until resolved<\/p><p>\u2013 Serious breach: removed from Directory, no refund (see Clause 13 of the Supplier Terms &amp; Conditions)<\/p><p>For non-members: our role ends after we&#8217;ve notified them. We keep a note on file which we&#8217;ll consider if they ever apply to join the Directory.<\/p><p>We&#8217;ll tell both parties whether the complaint was upheld, partially upheld, or not upheld, with a summary of why. This refers to a type of artificial intelligence which can be used to create new content (for example, text, code, images, videos or music) (referred to as the output). The AI uses machine learning algorithms to analyse large data sets.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><b>GPT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This is short for &#8220;generative pre-trained transformer&#8221;, which is a type of LLM that uses deep learning to produce natural language texts based on information requested in the input. ChatGPT is an example of a GPT model which can be used to generate text.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><b>Hallucination<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. LLMs can produce outputs which may initially appear to be believable but are in fact highly inaccurate or fabricated. This is known as a hallucination.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><b>Large language models<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><b>LLMs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). LLMs are a type of GenAI that can generate human-like text in response to a prompt. They use deep learning techniques and massive data volumes to generate a response.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><b>Prompts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. These are the inputs or queries that a user provides to the GenAI application to receive the required output. Prompts can be used by the GenAI application to further train the LLM.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong>AUTHORISED APPLICATION USE<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ffffff;\">We allow access to any reputable GenAI tool for business purposes (referred to as authorised AI applications).\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ffffff;\">Authorised AI applications must only be used by the workforce for the following business purposes:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(a)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">creating initial drafts of emails, letters and other correspondence;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(b)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">creating initial drafts of blog posts, social media content and marketing copy;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(c)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">proofreading and editing documents;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(d)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">summarising documents, reports and meeting notes;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(e)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">creating outlines, agendas and checklists;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(f)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">researching suppliers, venues, vendors, tools and market trends;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(g)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">generating and testing ideas;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(h)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">formatting and structuring documents;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(i)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">creating first drafts of guides and templates;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(j)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">translating or simplifying text; and<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(k)<\/span> developing widgets for website customer journey&#8217;s<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong>MISUSE<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">AI will never be used for:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ffffff;\">(a) providing legal, financial or contractual advice to clients or the business;<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ffffff;\">(b) making final decisions on client matters without human judgment; or<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ffffff;\">(c) creating final client-facing content without human review and approval.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">GUIDELINES FOR USE<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(a)<\/span> <b>Inputting data<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Confidential, sensitive, or proprietary data is not entered into the application as a prompt.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(b)<\/span> <b>Data protection<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Personal data and sensitive personal data is not entered into the application as a prompt in breach of the Data Protection Legislation.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(c)<\/span> <b>Intellectual property rights and licensing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We abide by any relevant licensing conditions regarding intellectual property rights in the AI application&#8217;s terms of use and ensure that third party proprietary data or material is not entered into the application as a prompt without the third party&#8217;s permission.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(d)<\/span> <b>Discriminatory language<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We will never input offensive, discriminatory or inappropriate content as a prompt.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(e)<\/span> <b>Be secure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We apply the same security measures we apply to all our IT applications. This includes using strong passwords, updating applications as required and not installing software onto our systems without authorisation from Lucy White.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(f)<\/span> <b>Review outputs and understand limitations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. GenAI technology is in its infancy and its predictive nature means that it has the potential to produce inaccurate outputs or hallucinations. It does not truly understand the context and it cannot apply judgment to its outputs. There is also a risk that the output is biased, inappropriate or otherwise offensive. This means that critical thought must be applied to all outputs of authorised AI applications; they must always be fact and sense checked before being relied upon for business purposes and reviewed to ensure content is appropriate. You should also consider whether the tool used has real time internet access or only has access to information up to a particular point in time as this may impact on the accuracy of the output.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(g)<\/span> <b>Ethical and responsible use<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Always use authorised AI applications ethically and responsibly. You must not generate content to impersonate, bully, or harass another person, or to generate explicit or offensive content.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(h)<\/span> <b>Third-party add-ons<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Be aware that third parties may build a service on top of GenAI applications. Avoid inputting any information or data into these add-ons. If in doubt about how add-ons may be operating in relation to an authorised AI application you are using, speak with Lucy White;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(i)<\/span> <b>Accountability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. You remain fully responsible and accountable for any work you produce or submit, regardless of whether AI was used in its creation;<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(j)<\/span> <b>Transparency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
