We only accept professionals we can confidently recommend to couples, and every application goes through our own rigorous vetting process before it&#8217;s approved. You can read the full code in the adjacent tab above.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now that I can edit my own Directory listing, what is the process \u2014 do I still need La Lista to approve it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can submit suggested changes to your listing from within your profile area when you are logged in.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Click on The Directory on the left hand side, Click Directory Listing form. Make your required edits and submit the changes. Your requested changes will be sent to the La Lista team who will curate your listing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How long does approval take after I submit changes?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We aim to review and approve all change requests within 2\u00a0working days of receiving them. We&#8217;ll let you know by email once your updates are live.<\/p>\n<p>Your listing will be paused while we review and approve your changes. Don\u2019t worry &#8211; we\u2019ll be as quick as possible and get your listing back live again!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why might my changes be rejected?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We want every listing to connect with couples browsing La Lista. If we can&#8217;t approve a change, we&#8217;ll always explain why and let you know what would work instead.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>What can I edit myself, and what do I need to ask the team to change?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can edit all information on your Directory listing, the changes are then submitted to the team for approval.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How many images can I upload, and what sizes\/formats do you need?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each Directory listing gallery can hold up to 10 images, so choose the ones that best show your work\/venue. Images should be in JPEG or PNG format. You&#8217;ll find sizing guidance and more tips in our image guide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can I add video, a brochure, pricing, or links to my own site and socials?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can add one video to your listing, shared as a YouTube or Vimeo link. Your listing can also show a price range and\/or starting price, to give couples a helpful guide. We don&#8217;t host brochures. Couples will contact you directly for bespoke pricing and more detail. Your listing will link to your website and social media, so couples can easily find out more about you.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do couples find me \u2014 how does ranking or ordering work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vendors are grouped by category, such as wedding planners or photographers, and venues are grouped by region of Italy. Within each category, listings are shuffled every time the category page loads, so every member gets equal visibility.\u00a0 Couples can then use filters specific to each category or region to narrow down their search by things like price bracket, location and services.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are vendor and venue categories capped?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vendor categories have a maximum number of members. We keep each one deliberately small, so every member stands out and couples can easily find the right fit. For categories divided by price bracket, such as photographers and wedding planners, the limit applies to each bracket rather than the category as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>Some categories are currently full, and for these we run a waitlist. If you apply to one of them, we&#8217;ll send you more information about how the waitlist works.<\/p>\n<p>Venue categories aren&#8217;t capped. Couples search for venues in very different ways, each with their own priorities, so we want to offer them as wide a choice as possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How does The Directory waitlist work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you apply to a category or price bracket that&#8217;s currently full, we&#8217;ll invite you to join our waitlist. We may ask for more information about your services and pricing, so we can understand your work and whether it could be a good fit in future.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that the waitlist isn&#8217;t a queue, and joining it doesn&#8217;t guarantee a place in The Directory. Because we keep The Directory deliberately small, spaces only open up occasionally. When they do, we review the waitlist and invite the professionals whose work, ethos and pricing best match our couples and the needs of The Directory at that time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you take commission through The Directory?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No. Your annual membership fee is the only cost, and we never take commission on bookings. There are two main types:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part A:<\/strong> Complaints about vendors or venues (typically from couples)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part B:<\/strong> Complaints about posts in our communities (typically from venues or vendors)<\/p>\n<p>Skip to the section that applies to you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PART A: COMPLAINTS ABOUT VENDORS AND VENUES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This section applies if you\u2019re a couple (or other community member) who has had a problem with a vendor or venue and wants La Lista to look into it.<\/p>\n<p>Try to resolve it directly first.<\/p>\n<p>Before making a formal complaint, we\u2019d encourage you to contact the other party directly. Many issues come down to miscommunication and can be sorted out with a conversation.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re not sure how to approach this, you\u2019re welcome to email us at <a href=\"mailto:hello@lalista.com\">hello@lalista.com<\/a> for advice \u2013 we\u2019re happy to help you think through what to say.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve already tried to resolve things directly and got nowhere, or if the issue is serious enough that direct contact doesn\u2019t feel appropriate, read on.<\/p>\n<p>How to make a complaint to us<\/p>\n<p>Email <a href=\"mailto:hello@lalista.com\">hello@lalista.com<\/a> with \u2018Complaint\u2019 in the subject line. Please include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Your name and contact details<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 The vendor or venue name<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 When the issue happened<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 What went wrong<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Any evidence you have<\/p>\n<p><strong>EVIDENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We need something to work with. Useful evidence includes contracts, payment receipts, emails, messages, photos, or screenshots with timestamps. It includes direct evidence, not hearsay from other people or posts in other forums.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ve got 7 days from when we acknowledge your complaint to send us your evidence. If nothing comes through, we\u2019ll close the complaint.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SHARING NEGATIVE FEEDBACK IN OUR COMMUNITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you want to share a negative experience in our Facebook group or The Community, that\u2019s fine \u2013 honest feedback is valuable for other couples. But please read this section first. Reviews can have real consequences for businesses, and for you if you get it wrong.<\/p>\n<p>The full rules are in our Community Guidelines, but here are the key points:<\/p>\n<p>Stick to facts you can back up. \u201cThe flowers arrived two hours later than the production schedule\u201d is a fact. \u201cThey\u2019re the worst florist in Italy\u201d is not. If you make factual claims, be prepared to provide evidence if asked.<\/p>\n<p>Be fair and balanced. If there were positives as well as negatives, include both.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t exaggerate. Describe what actually happened, no matter how strongly you feel.<\/p>\n<p>Focus on the service, not the person. Avoid personal attacks or offensive language about individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Think twice if there\u2019s an ongoing dispute. If you\u2019re in the middle of a complaint, legal dispute, or chargeback, consider waiting until it\u2019s resolved. Posting publicly during a dispute can complicate things and may expose you to legal risk.<\/p>\n<p>Disclose any conflicts of interest. If you have a personal or business connection to a vendor (friend, family, received a discount), you must say so.<\/p>\n<p>A word on defamation: Defamation is illegal in Italy. A review that contains false statements of fact, is exaggerated, or is written maliciously to damage a business could be defamatory. If a vendor believes they\u2019ve been defamed, they may take legal action against you. Make sure you can evidence everything you write.<\/p>\n<p>If your post doesn\u2019t follow these rules, we may ask you to edit it or provide evidence, and we may remove it if you don\u2019t. Repeated breaches could result in you being banned from the community. See the Community Guidelines for full details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HOW WE ASSESS COMPLAINTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We categorise complaints, whether they have been made to us or posted in our member communities, in three categories:<\/p>\n<p>Minor \u2013 slow replies, small misunderstandings. We\u2019ll notify the vendor and give them a chance to respond.<\/p>\n<p>Moderate \u2013 proper service failures, or repeated complaints about the same vendor. We\u2019ll investigate and may add a warning to their file.<\/p>\n<p>Serious \u2013 no-shows, allegations of fraud, major contract breaches. We\u2019ll investigate immediately and may suspend their Directory membership while we do.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT HAPPENS NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>We acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours.<\/li>\n<li>If it\u2019s a public post, we\u2019ll comment saying it\u2019s under investigation and turn off comments.<\/li>\n<li>We notify the vendor by email within 24 hours and invite them to respond.<\/li>\n<li>We ask both sides for evidence (you and the vendor have 7 days to supply this).<\/li>\n<li>We review everything. For Supplier members, we assess whether they\u2019ve met the professional standards in the Supplier Terms &amp; Conditions.<\/li>\n<li>We tell both parties our decision within 3 working days of finishing. Investigations usually take up to 14 working days.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>POSSIBLE OUTCOMES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For Vendor members:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Complaint not substantiated: complaint closed, and (if posted publicly) post removed<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Minor issue: noted on file, warning given<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Bigger issue: membership suspended until resolved<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Serious breach: removed from Directory, no refund (see Clause 13 of the Supplier Terms &amp; Conditions)<\/p>\n<p>For non-members: our role ends after we\u2019ve notified them. We keep a note on file which we\u2019ll consider if they ever apply to join the Directory.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll tell both parties whether the complaint was upheld, partially upheld, or not upheld, with a summary of why. Specific outcomes about Directory membership stay confidential.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PART B: COMPLAINTS ABOUT POSTS IN OUR COMMUNITY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This section applies if you\u2019re a vendor or venue and you\u2019ve seen something posted about your business in our Facebook group or one of our membership forums that you believe is unfair, inaccurate, or breaches our Community Guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>How to report a post<\/p>\n<p>Email <a href=\"mailto:hello@lalista.com\">hello@lalista.com<\/a> with:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 A link to the post (or a screenshot if you can\u2019t link to it)<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Why you believe it\u2019s inaccurate or unfair<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Any evidence that supports your position<\/p>\n<p>You can also use the \u2018Report\u2019 function on Facebook for posts in our Facebook group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT WE\u2019LL LOOK AT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll review the post against our Community Guidelines. In particular:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Is the poster sticking to facts they can back up?<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Is it fair and balanced?<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Does it avoid personal attacks?<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Could it be defamatory (false statements that damage your reputation)?<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Does it comply with the other rules in the Community Guidelines?<\/p>\n<p>We won\u2019t remove a post simply because you disagree with someone\u2019s opinion. Opinions like \u201cI was disappointed\u201d or \u201cI wouldn\u2019t recommend them\u201d are allowed, even if they\u2019re unflattering. What\u2019s not allowed is false statements of fact, exaggeration, or content designed to damage your business maliciously.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT HAPPENS NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>We acknowledge your report within 24 hours.<\/li>\n<li>We review the post against the Community Guidelines. We may hide the post while we investigate.<\/li>\n<li>If we think there might be an issue, we\u2019ll contact the poster and ask them to provide evidence for their claims or to edit the post. They\u2019ve got 7 days to provide this.<\/li>\n<li>If they provide evidence and the post complies with the Guidelines, it stays up.<\/li>\n<li>If they don\u2019t respond, can\u2019t back up their claims, or won\u2019t edit the post, we may remove it.<\/li>\n<li>We\u2019ll let you know the outcome.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>POSSIBLE OUTCOMES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Post stays up (complies with Guidelines, or is opinion not fact)<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Poster asked to edit (remove inaccurate parts)<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Post removed (breaches Guidelines or poster does not provide evidence)<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Poster warned or banned from community (serious or repeated breaches)<\/p>\n<p>For paid community members, repeated breaches of the Community Guidelines may also result in their membership being revoked.<\/p>\n<p>You can respond instead<\/p>\n<p>If a post is critical but doesn\u2019t breach the Guidelines, you\u2019re welcome to post a response underneath rather than asking us to remove it. This can actually work in your favour \u2013 couples often appreciate seeing how vendors handle criticism. Just keep it professional and accurate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPEALS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal once, but only if:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 You have new evidence that wasn\u2019t available before, or<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 We made a genuine mistake in how we handled the complaint<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ve got 14 days from our decision to appeal. Email <a href=\"mailto:hello@lalista.com\">hello@lalista.com<\/a> with \u2018APPEAL\u2019 in the subject line. We\u2019ll respond within 14 working days. Decisions on appeals are final.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MISUSE OF THIS PROCESS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We watch out for:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Made-up complaints or complaints filed just to cause trouble<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Threatening vendors with bad reviews to get freebies or refunds<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Vendors trying to silence legitimate criticism<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Competitors trying to sabotage each other<\/p>\n<p>If we think any of this is happening, we\u2019ll dismiss the complaint and may restrict the person from our communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RECORD KEEPING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We keep complaint records for 2 years, then delete them. Notes about vendors stay on file longer as we use them when assessing Directory applications. For more on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Notice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LIMITATIONS AND LIABILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>OUR ROLE AND DECISIONS<\/p>\n<p>La Lista is not a court, regulator, or arbitrator. We provide a complaints process as a service to our community, but our decisions are made at our sole discretion and are not legal rulings. We do not determine legal liability, fault, or entitlement to compensation.<\/p>\n<p>By using this complaints process, you acknowledge that you are not entitled to any particular outcome, and that our decision to uphold, partially uphold, or dismiss a complaint (or to remove, edit, or leave up a post) is final, subject only to the appeals process above.<\/p>\n<p>NO VERIFICATION OF CLAIMS<\/p>\n<p>We are not able to independently verify the accuracy or completeness of information provided by complainants, venues, vendors, or anyone else involved in a complaint. We make decisions based on the information and evidence provided to us, acting in good faith and using our reasonable judgement. We do not guarantee that our decisions are correct, and we accept no responsibility for any inaccuracies in information provided to us by any party.<\/p>\n<p>EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY<\/p>\n<p>To the fullest extent permitted by law, La Lista shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 any decision we make under this protocol, including decisions to uphold or dismiss complaints, to remove or leave up posts, or to suspend or terminate memberships;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 any delay in handling a complaint or any failure to meet the timeframes set out in this protocol;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 any action we take (or decline to take) in response to a complaint;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 the content of any complaint, review, or post made by any user of our communities;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 any reliance you place on the outcome of a complaint;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 any dispute between a complainant and a vendor or venue, regardless of whether we have been involved.<\/p>\n<p>This exclusion applies to direct loss, indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of goodwill, reputational damage, and any other loss or damage of any kind, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>YOUR RESPONSIBILITY<\/p>\n<p>You are responsible for the content of any complaint you make or any post you publish. If your complaint or post is false, misleading, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful, you (not La Lista) will be legally responsible.
