The Tuscan hilltop hamlet that was made for weddings
In partnership with Borgo Laticastelli
What comes to mind when you picture Tuscany? Rolling hills, historic villages, and long tables under the stars? Borgo Laticastelli captures it all. This medieval hamlet turned luxury retreat sits high on a hill between Siena and Arezzo, offering sweeping countryside views and a centuries of character at every turn. With beautifully restored suites, gardens made for al fresco dinners, and a dedicated team on hand to bring every detail to life, it’s a place where centuries-old walls set the stage for once-in-a-lifetime celebrations.
The History of the Hamlet
Borgo Laticastelli has lived many lives. Once a 12th-century fortress caught in the crossfire between Siena and Florence, it later became a thriving agricultural village, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and farmland as far as the eye could see. Then came decline, abandonment, and decades of silence.
Fast forward to 2001, and the borgo was given a new lease of life, carefully restored and transformed first into a boutique hotel and now into an exclusive wedding venue and wellness retreat. Today, its medieval bones and Tuscan soul remain intact, but with all the luxuries couples dream of. A place where centuries of history meet modern-day celebration.
How the Day Unfolds
Morning: Guests ease into the day with breakfast on the restaurant terrace, soaking up the panoramic Tuscan views. Later, the pool bar opens for a relaxed mid-morning drink with the countryside as your backdrop.
Ceremony & Aperitivo: The lower terrace sets the scene for the ceremony, with sweeping views that make every moment picture-perfect. After “I do,” guests move to the new terrace or grassy area for a celebratory champagne, Prosecco, or spritz tower. Aperitivo then spreads across the borgo—from the patio to the Fontana garden letting everyone mingle, explore, and soak up the atmosphere.
Dinner: A three-course served dinner takes place in the garden, central borgo, or restaurant terrace. Intimate, refined, and designed for conversation, it’s the perfect moment to pause and enjoy the Tuscan evening.
Evening Celebrations: Cake cutting happens on the new patio or under the big tree, followed by a bouquet toss from the bridal suite balcony. The party then shifts to the cave or patio, where guests dance late into the night with a dessert buffet, fresh fruit, and an open bar keeping energy high.

The In-House Team
This borgo brings something rare to Tuscany: a full-scale team dedicated entirely to the wedding experience. With around 40–45 staff on hand, every detail is taken care of from planning, concierge, daily housekeeping, three bars, and even pool and garden maintenance.
“Our role is to make everything feel effortless for the couple,” the team explains. “From the first welcome to the last dance, nothing is left to chance.”
Food and drink are central to the experience, with personalised menus for pizza nights, BBQs, pasta parties, and poolside lunches. On the wedding day itself, aperitivo unfolds with live food corners, followed by a seated dinner and a dessert buffet that stays open as long as the dancing does.
This isn’t just a venue—it’s a team effort designed to create celebrations that feel seamless, generous, and unmistakably Tuscan.
At Borgo Laticastelli, the magic of Tuscany comes to life—ancient stone walls, sweeping views, and a sense of history at every turn. But it’s the warmth of the team and the seamless flow of the celebration that leave the biggest impression.
For couples looking for a wedding that feels both timeless and deeply personal, this hilltop hamlet is as unforgettable as it gets.
