The Bistrot
Nikis Bistrot is very much the soul of Nikis Resort — a passion project from the Caponetti family brought to life with Chef Enrico Pistoletti and his team. The vibe? Thoughtful but unfussy. The food blends international experience with strong Italian roots, all served in a setting that feels design-led yet deeply connected to the history around it.
It’s open to both guests and anyone who simply fancies a long lunch or special dinner in the Umbrian hills. By day, expect relaxed, flavour-packed dishes from grill to pan. By night, it shifts into something a little more intimate, with tasting menus and playful à la carte plates worth lingering over with a good bottle of wine.
History
Nikis Resort dates back to 1137, with a medieval fortress and church at its heart overlooking the hills near Gubbio. The history is woven into the fabric of the estate, you can feel it in the stone walls, the architecture and the atmosphere.
Carefully restored by the Caponetti family, it balances its ancient roots with modern comfort, creating a place that feels authentic and full of character.

The Wedding Day
Morning: Guests wake to sweeping views of the Umbrian hills near Gubbio, easing into the day with breakfast on the terrace or a quiet coffee by one of the two pools, surrounded by nature and total tranquillity.
Ceremony + Aperitivo: Vows can be exchanged in the historic on-site church or outdoors overlooking the Assino Valley. Afterwards, guests gather for aperitivo across the terraces and gardens, soaking up golden-hour views and that relaxed countryside atmosphere.
Dinner: As the sun sets, tables are set against the backdrop of the medieval fortress, with candlelight, thoughtful Umbrian cuisine from Nikis Bistrot, and wine flowing under the open sky.
Evening Celebrations: Music and dancing carry on beneath the stars, with the estate’s courtyards and terraces offering space to celebrate late into the night — all in one beautifully private setting.
