Planning a wedding with 60k euro

Having a set budget when planning your Italian wedding is always a winner in our eyes. Researching the general cost of an Italian wedding before embarking on planning is crucial. Our Directory is full of recommended suppliers and venues with prices so you can really gauge what a budget might need to look like line by line.

In this article we’ll break down how a budget ‘could’ look if you have 60,000 euro. All costs are based on real suppliers quoting 2024/2025 weddings.

Note this is such a personal experience and finances look very different to each couple planning. Variables like venue, guest number and number of events make the biggest difference to your budget.

Start inputting costs into our free, expert-designed Budget Tracker and kick off planning the right way.

Let’s breakdown the costs:

We got as close as we could to 60k!

This is a budget that is trying to ‘do everything’ and when planning in this way it can lead to disappointment if choices are limited and you cannot afford what you’d like. We’d suggest doing less and doing the things you do do, better.

If you’re renting somewhere for as day hire you will not have the guest reimbursement line and it would almost be impossible to get to 60k figure without major compromise.

At La Lista we believe in the expertise of wedding planners and support of some kind should always be included in your budget. It will save you time, energy stress and….money in the long run. If anyone can make the most of a budget it’s an experienced planner.

What’s the difference between a 60k wedding and a 40k wedding of 60 pax? Read the 40k breakdown here.

  • Catering costs have risen based on the higher guest number

  • Transport is now needed for guests to pick up and drop off off site; as not many venues can sleep 80, unfortunately limiting your options

  • As a general rule very large venues tend to provide their own food and on the whole it’s not the same quality as external catering. Be sure to do a tasting before booking the venue and read the external suppliers conditions to be clear if you will be required to choose from a set list

How to secure lower costs:

  • Book out of season

  • Book for a weekday

  • Book a venue through Airbnb or similar (BUT…please for the love of god see our Free Venue Guide and ensure you have everything clear before booking – hidden costs can arise)

  • Get a venue with wet weather option built into the cost

  • Use one musician / DJ all day

  • Work with lesser known vendors (but get reviews!!!!)

  • Have your dinner and dancing in the same space – so less lighting needed

  • Negotiate carefully. Suppliers work very hard and paying them well will guarantee you the best service
