Planning a 2023 wedding? Here’s what you should be doing

So you’ve made the decision to get married in Italy. Great shout! Now what?

There’s no time like the present. If you’re going for Italy, start looking for your venue. You can’t really do this too soon. Not only does it mean more dates will be available to you, it may mean that venues are still working on 2022 prices, offering you a potential small saving.

If you’ve not already, set a budget and think through what you want from your wedding. The budget will determine what’s available for the venue.

Having a few calls with planners can really help gain understanding and inform your budget. They’re full of wisdom and will help your decision making. Obviously if you have decided that you’d like a planner, picking the right one is an important next step. Here are our top tips on choosing the right one.

With the world hopefully opening up for travel in the next few weeks, now’s a good time to get to know your venues and create a shortlist to go and visit. You can read more about choosing a venue here.

We’d suggest shortlisting 3-4 venues max. There’s no need to see lots of venues, just stick to those that feel closest to the one. It’s a bit like house hunting! Less is more.

Ideally you’ll book a venue pre-autumn and be all set for taking the next steps in planning, slightly ahead of the curve. This keeps your options open, prices potentially lower and makes the planning experience calm and enjoyable.
