Alice + Taylor’s dreamy wedding in Lake Como

What once felt like a distant dream became reality for London-based model Alice and her husband Taylor, who celebrated their wedding on the iconic shores of Lake Como. Alice had long imagined finding ‘the one’ who shared her vision of marrying at the iconic Villa Pizzo. Though the venue seemed out of reach, they were pleasantly surprised to find it not only fit within their budget, but the only Saturday available landed on their two-year engagement anniversary.
Love Story
“We met actually 5 years prior to going on our first date. We both felt like there was a connection back then, but nothing came of it, and then we met again through mutual friends, and the connection was still there. We didn’t stop talking all night. I knew I had met someone special. He is the kindest, sweetest person, and he brings joy to life. I can be a massive worrier, and he is just so calm and relaxed. We complement each other’s personalities perfectly. I came into our relationship with my son from a previous relationship, and he took him on like he was his own. He is a wonderful stepdad and now father to our daughter.”
Getting Ready
“Getting ready with all my girls at the stunning Hotel Passalacqua was truly unforgettable. We booked the Bellini Suite, which was where Bellini, the Italian composer, composed all of his music. It was the most beautiful hotel room I have ever seen. We spent the morning dancing, singing, enjoying an incredible breakfast, and then got ready. The moment I put my dress on, it then started to feel real.”
Why Italy
“We have spent a lot of time in our relationship travelling Italy, and some of our closest friends are Italian. How can you not also be obsessed with the food and wine? We wanted this to be a priority at our wedding.”
The Venue
“11 years ago, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen got married at Villa Pizzo, and I remember so clearly seeing all of their pictures and thinking, god, if only one day I could meet the love of my life and get married there. And then, after we got engaged, I mentioned to Taylor that there was this venue that has stuck in my mind, but I said that I didn’t think it would be 1) available for the following year, or 2) in our budget. He told me to go ahead and contact them anyway, and guess what — the only Saturday they had available for 2024 was two years to the day from when we got engaged, and it was in budget. We couldn’t believe it. We didn’t look at any other locations, as I knew it was the one. We went to view it prior to putting the deposit down, and it was everything and more. I’m getting butterflies now just thinking about that stunning villa on the lake.”
The Dress
“I could not have loved my dress anymore, it was everything that I wanted and more. My dress suited our venue perfectly. Elegant but with a touch of glamour in the detailing. The embellishment throughout the dress and veil reminded me of snowflakes.”
Planning Advice
“Sometimes wedding planning can get overwhelming, at the end of the day you are planning the most wonderful day of your life it’s not supposed to consume you in a negative way. I went through stages when I would communicate with our planner that I needed a couple of days off planning and she would be very understanding, it helped clear the mind.”
The Weather
“It was incredibly hot on our wedding day, it doesn't normally reach those temperatures in Como so we were not prepared for that and it was quite uncomfortable at times. So looking back I wish that we had prepared for that. Apart from that Ii wouldn't have done a thing differently.”
A Special Touch
“Taylor used to be a DJ so he taught me how to dj a few years ago and we performed a set together during the after party for all our guests.”
