Good food, good people, good times! And epic puff sleeves on Ashley’s bridal dress! With 60 of their closest friends and family members, Ashley and Marty celebrated their dream wedding day at classic Tuscan venue, Borgo Corsignano. Putting aside the fact that both the bride and groom forgot to write their vows - thank goodness they were in the same boat (!) - this day with filled with magic, joy and an insanely good millefolgie wedding cake. For the number crunching couples out there desperate to know how much a wedding like this cost, the couple kindly shared that they did go over their original $35,000 budget; but with the help of Serena Ricci from Tuscan Tours and Weddings their dreams were brought to life.

How did you meet?

“Our story began the old fashioned way- at an open bar. We merged groups and ended up sharing a table which later led to sharing McFly bombs (don't ask). Marty walked me home in the snow as the night came to an end and FORGOT TO ASK FOR MY NUMBER.” Ashley - bride

Tell us about your engagement

“A last minute trip to Italy was planned for June 2021 where Marty proposed on the Amalfi Coast. The control freak in me was shocked I hadn't even the slightest clue but it was a complete DREAM. And when they claim you kind of black out during a proposal - they weren't kidding! We've hit some pretty huge milestones together thus far but something tells me 2023 will be the best yet.” Ashley

What was your biggest worry when planning your wedding?

“We had a long engagement which was perfect for planning a destination wedding. 2 years of planning, 3 days of events: welcome party, wedding, pool party + wine tasting. All planned for outside of course, because it’s Tuscany! My biggest worry was bringing all our family and friends to this beautiful place and the weather not cooperating. Luckily we couldn’t have asked for better weather!” Ashley

Best money spent?

“Our florist exceeded our expectations, especially with only having met once; coordinating all through our wedding planner. The venue was beyond stunning and everyone was in awe. Having everyone on property for the entirety of the 4 days was probably the best part!” Ashley

Stand out supplier?

“Our photographer. She captured everything so perfectly. Which we knew from our engagement shoot. Her style is so breathtaking.” Ashley

“Our cocktail napkins were such a special touch. We chose hand written notes we had exchanged over the years. I also loved my bouquet so much! The baby's breath lined aisle was so beautiful.”

“Deciding on the traditional Millefoglie cake - I think people will talk about this forever! Not to mention the best cake we have ever tasted.”

Stand out moment?

“I think I'm going to go with the millefoglie cake that the caterer made in front of everyone and we got to help! It was so special. The champagne was flowing, the string lights were glowing, it felt like an out of body experience.” Ashley

Did anything go wrong?

“Funny story - Marty and I planned to write our vows the morning of and exchange them privately at some point in the day. We thought we'd have a quiet moment alone to thoughtfully write them out. Midday, I texted him and said "oh my gosh...I havent had a chance to write my vows..." and he responded relieved since he hadn’t gotten a chance either. We didn't let it stress us out one bit- the day was perfect.” Ashley
