Emma + Robin’s romantic Rome wedding

Photography: One of These Days

Emma & Robin’s wedding set just on the outskirts of Rome was bursting with happiness and love. Traditional Italian touches were cleverly paired with sentiments from home - we love the Scottish kilts worn by Robin and his groomsmen!

After special holidays spent in the region and at Park Hotel Villa Grazioli the couple couldn’t think of a more magical place for their wedding celebration. And they seriously deserved an epic day after 2 years of postponements (grazie again covid!)

The venue boasts a stunning panoramic position on the Tusculum hill near Frascati, just outside of Rome. Emma & Robin’s joint love for the frescoes made this venue unparalleled. And wow, do the murals make for heavenly backdrops! The views are sensational and made the perfect backdrop for Emma & Robin’s romantic celebration. Dancing on the rooftop vibes!

Personal planning:

“Our wedding was probably quite different to the usual Wiskow and White wedding because we had chosen the venue before speaking to W&W! It was one from a holiday we went on years ago, and at the time we said wouldn't this be a dream to get married in! So choosing the venue that way, and being somewhere we'd visited quite a few times, meant it felt very personal. But the amazing thing about having Wiskow and White was they were then able to turn it into a completely different space. From the flowers, to rooms full of candles, to different musicians - each space felt totally changed on the day. It was just magical and felt completely unique to us.” Emma - bride

Best money you spent:

“Definitely our wedding planners Wiskow and White. I think I'd say that anyway but particularly with covid - we had to move the wedding and it really felt like no hassle. They were amazing from sourcing suppliers to the styling on the day, but they were also brilliant at dealing with suppliers and spotting things that we wouldn't spot in contracts so stopped us getting overcharged/charged for things we didn't want / need.” Emma - bride

Stand out supplier:

“Our musicians were incredible throughout the day. They were managed by Mr Music Italy and it was all seamless. Of all of them though, the violin duo were incredible. During the aperitivo my friends told me they felt like they were in Bridgerton. And in the evening they played a few songs with the DJ (like Skyfall) and everyone was in awe!” Emma - bride

Styling:

Emma’s favourite flower - a rose was chosen as the base for their decor. Classic and so complementary with the villa’s decor.

“We chose pale pinks in the floral displays as they appear in so many of the tones of the frescoes in the gallery (where they had their ceremony) and in the room for the dinner.” Wiskow & White - planners

Stand out moment:

“Our photographers found out that our venue had a rooftop terrace so during dinner at golden hour we went up to the terrace and caught the sunset over Rome. Our videographer then put music on for us so my husband and I had a secret first dance up there and it was just incredible.” Emma - bride

Advice for future wedding couples:

“One mistake we made was deciding to courier the men's kilts over, rather than taking them on the plane with us since they're so heavy. We were guaranteed they'd arrive 5 days before, and ended up arriving the day before! So fortunately it worked out but could just have easily been a disaster! I'd also recommend a ceremony run through the night before. It's the only thing you really need to get timings right for, and also where everyone is to stand / go for the ceremony. We were a bit off with our music, and at one point felt my husband was standing a mile away from me!” Emma - bride
