Georgana + Vinny’s clifftop vows on Capri’s cobalt coast

From their North London everyday to a clifftop celebration above the Tyrrhenian Sea, Georgana + Vinny’s wedding was a meeting point between home and heritage. Both from England, with her Greek Cypriot roots and his Irish and Scottish, their lives are anchored in the city but drawn to the Mediterranean. On Capri, they let that instinct lead the way, keeping the focus on atmosphere over formality with British celebrant Nat Raybould holding space for a personal ceremony and and DJ Sergio from Greece creating the soundtrack to their celebration.
Love Story
“We met at a house party in London (we both went to LSE). We had mutual friends who invited me to a house party at Vinny's house.”
The Engagement
“We got engaged in our flat at the time. Just in our living room with our favourite song playing (Carry Me Away by John Mayor). We then went out for dinner and I thought it was just the two of us but about 30 of our best friends ended up being there to surprise me. Vinny planned the whole thing - it was one of the best days of our lives. So much fun and just a massive celebration. ”
Why Italy
“We were always deciding between Italy and Greece, our two favourite countries. In the end the venue dictated the location. We wanted to be by the seaside with sunset views and we wanted the reception location to feel very relaxed.”
The Venue
“My dad's friends knew of the restaurant, Il Riccio, and me and my dad were talking about it and looking at photos. It was just exactly what I had in mind. So we went to view it and it was just perfect, didn't need to look at anything else!”
The Planning
“We had a long engagement (about 18 months). Our wedding planners, Alice Wilkes Design, made the whole process manageable. I loved the whole process and wish I could do it all over again. The Italians can be quite last minute compared to the English so we had a few stresses there but it all worked out in the end.”
The Style
“For the ceremony, we wanted to be surrounded by white lilies. My mum, who was my absolute world, sadly passed away five years ago. They were her favourite flower and I always used to buy them for her. So it just felt right being surrounded by them as we tied the knot.
For the reception, we wanted it to feel very relaxed and not too traditional. Just scaled back and let the views do the talking.”
Stand Out Moment
“The ceremony! I just absolutely took in that moment with Vinny. It felt like just the two of us there and felt very significant and special.
Nat, our celebrant, is British and we were introduced via our wedding planners. We just clicked straight away and I could tell she was really going to take the time to understand us as a couple. Definitely one of the highlights of the wedding she was absolutely amazing.”
Looking Back Now
“I’d worry less about the little things. I spent hours agonising over how many flowers we had, or what song we were going to walk out to. But these things always work out and there are so many ways to do them.”
Advice for Couples
“Focus on the music and the food. If these are top tier your guests are going to have the most amazing time.
And always stay true to your vision and what you believe in, even if other people try to steer you in a different direction. If you do this you will look around on the day and just think yep, this is exactly what we envisioned.”
Stand Out Vendor
“DJ! 100% We flew DJ Sergio in from Greece; the music was just incredible and made the whole day such a fantastic party, which is exactly what we wanted. ”
