There’s something special about seeing your wedding vision come to life, and that’s exactly how it played out for London-based photographer and influencer Georgia and her husband Kim. Wanting something intimate and steering away from a big UK wedding, they were drawn to Italy through Georgia’s late father, but it was the southern charm of Puglia that sealed the deal.

Starting with a €40k budget, they quickly realised that making their vision a reality would take more, ending up closer to €70k. Now, they’re sharing what was worth the splurge, what they’d do differently, and how La Lista helped along the way.

The Love Story

“We met on Bumble in 2018 and we got engaged in Thailand in April 2023. We were in a swimming pool in Koh Lipe — he told me he was going to take a photo of us and then got down on one knee with the ring!”

Why Italy?

“My dad passed away unexpectedly in 2022 and he was Italian. I never wanted a big wedding, but I definitely didn’t want a UK big wedding so Italy made so much sense.”

The Venue

“We viewed so so many, we spent a week in Puglia and a week in Tuscany. My family are from Rome but none took our fancy there. I preferred the overall vibe of the south, and felt like the landscape gave more of a blank canvas to work with in the end. Fontana di Vite was actually the first one we looked at ironically! Lots also came in too expensive when you factored in food, or couldn’t be flexible on things which didn’t work for us.”

Style Inspiration

“I am an absolute Pinterest girl. I spent HOURS curating mood boards on there.”

Best Money Spent

“My husband thinks the band and sax player, I think my bow veil, it was a showstopper! Our band — Tune again, were fab, they were so much fun and really got everyone going.”

Stand Out Moment

I loved our dinner. It was so good to look out at our guests and realise everyone was there for us!”

La Lista Love

“I really loved the Facebook Community! It was so helpful to ask for opinions or see how other people handled certain things—especially details you wouldn’t have thought of otherwise, like transporting matches! The Directory was also super helpful when we first started planning. I found so many venues, which we then looked at through La Lista, and it’s SO helpful to have the vague pricing — I enquired at one that came back at £600k!”

Advice For Couples

“I know it’s said over and over again, but have a buffer for your budget and make sure you’re both aligned on what you want. Also be prepared to be let down by things on the day (nothing major hopefully). For example we noticed our table candles hadn’t been lit so we got our guests to do it with our favour matches!”
