Joe + Joanne celebrate their serene white wedding at Villa Il Poggiale in the Chianti Hills. The couple fell in love with Tuscany for its outstanding food, wine and the classic far-reaching views. Joanne shares how recognising the need to hire a planner from the start was crucial in how they approached the lead-up to their wedding and undoubtedly the wedding itself.

“We met at university and got engagement in Barbados.”

Why did you choose Italy?
“Amazing food, wine and beautiful scenery. We absolutely love it here. ”
How did you choose the venue?
“We had the help of our wedding planner Giulia who picked out some venues she thought we would like. My husband actually picked the venue without me seeing it in the end. A risky move but it was perfect.”
Did anything go wrong?
“We realised during the planning that we were given the wrong number of rooms at the venue so not everyone could stay on site as we had hoped. Thankfully there were places near by people could stay. ”

“That long table looked incredible and created the relaxed vibe we were hoping for.”

“I love speeches at a wedding. Joe and I did a joint one and my dad’s speech had the whole place in tears! It was a really emotional day.”
