Biviere - Villa Borghese
A 140-hectare organic citrus estate between Catania and Syracuse, for intimate weddings in Sicily's unspoilt countryside.
Set among avenues of olive trees, yuccas and citrus groves within its own 3.5-hectare botanical garden, Biviere – Villa Borghese hosts the ceremony in the estate's 17th-century Church of Saint Andrew, with the chemical-free citrus groves as the backdrop. It has the feel of a private family retreat rather than a resort, with a pool surrounded by greenery and seasonal menus drawn from the estate's own citrus and olive harvests, with just seven suites keeping the wedding party to an intimate 15 guests overnight.
Good to know: Biviere is officially recognised by the Italian Ministry of Culture for its historical and artistic significance and belongs to both the Italian Historic Houses Association and the Grandi Giardini Italiani network, a rare pairing that speaks to how carefully the gardens and buildings have been preserved.
