Italy isn’t just for the big, blowout weddings. For some couples, eloping just feels right, whether it’s about keeping things personal, skipping the pressure, or choosing an experience that’s completely their own. And let’s be honest, saying your vows without any outside pressure and an Italian sunset behind you? Hard to top.

We’ve got three totally different Italian elopements to show you, all in different parts of Italy, all with different budgets, and all proof that doing it your way can still be unforgettable.

Brittany + Keith: Dolomites

Brittany and Keith ditched the $30K Texas wedding for something that felt way more like them—an elopement in the Italian Alps. With mountains, nature, and a once-in-a-lifetime setting in mind, they chose Lago di Braies for epic views and total privacy. And the best part? No wedding blues—just a three-week trip around Europe to top it all off.

“Overall, the expenses for hair, makeup, bouquet, location fees, photography, and the church donation came to about $3.5k USD. Of course, travel costs vary depending on where you’re coming from, but we spent three weeks in Europe, sticking to a $10k budget. “

Brooke + Kavon: Positano

Brooke and Kavon decided against the big wedding back home and opted for something smaller and more meaningful in Positano. With Italian roots and a shared love of travel, the Amalfi Coast felt like the right fit. When they came across Hotel Marincanto and its elopement package, the decision was easy.

“We spent around $14k USD all-in, including airfare, accommodations, rings, etc. We didn’t have an exact budget, but this was on the higher end of what we were comfortable spending. We chose to focus our spending on the things that mattered most to us (the gown and suit, incredible photos, and luxury touches at the hotel) and skipped on things we could work around or do without.”

Anastasiya + Ronald: Tuscany

After falling in love with the country on a 2022 trip, Italy just made sense for Anastasiya and Ronald. Once Borgo San Pietro came on Anastasiya's radar, it shot straight to the top of their list—and after getting engaged, there was no looking back. With a big family on one side and travel challenges on the other, they skipped the stress of a full guest list and made the day truly theirs.

“Between the wedding and the 2.5 week honeymoon we spent about $50k CAD,  inclusive of everything - dress, his suit, our flights, hotel stays, etc. This was right on budget! We knew this wouldn’t be a budget trip and prepared accordingly. The wedding day itself was probably around $20k CAD.”
