Maria-Laura + Pietro’s curated countryside wedding

Maria-Laura and Pietro’s classical countryside wedding spanned across 3 days in June at Tuscan wedding venue, Antico Borgo di Tabiano Castello. The welcome for guests really set the tone for the entire event - a wholesome, village-feel ‘White Party’, full of fun games, with a folklore band creating such a ‘street party’ vibe. Guests were enveloped in the warmth of classic hospitality - local Michelin-starred chefs served up exceptional Italian food, and thought going into every aspect of the celebrations. This really is true, honest Italy at its best.

The Welcome Event

“Our celebrations started with a pre-wedding ‘White Party’ and a feast created to feel like a traditional, village festival. A great number of surprises were created for our guests, including a mechanical bull, the Italian world famous ‘calcio balilla’ , also known as table football, the piñata and an artist drawing stylised portraits of every guest.”

The Venue

“Pietro and I have chosen a special location for our wedding, in a small village at the foot of a castle, which used to host master craftsmen dedicated to the production of the famous Parmesan cheese, in the heart of Emilia Romagna.”

“There was a lot to be celebrated: to love and to be loved, nothing can be more precious!”

Stand out Moment

“The exit from the church with the big greenery arch, Italian-style aperitivo with pizza and crated finger food from a Michelin star restaurant.” Margherita Calati, photographer

The Wedding Day

“Stefania Guastini, our wedding planner and her collaborators transformed our dreams into reality, checking every single detail as we had previously planned together: small fresh water bottles with lime for the guest outside Church, hexagonal boxes recalling a hive as tableau, glass flasks with artisan balsamic vinegar as favors to remind us all that ‘getting old’ together will make us better and sweeter.”

The Dress

“I put on a light dress of Luisa Beccaria with flared sleeves and a retro style, reminding me of old village seamstresses designing for the bride. And the most precious part, the veil, hand embroidered, with a waterfall of flowers to symbolise spring, a New Beginning!”

The Cake

“At the end of the dinner, the best and most waited moment: the cake cutting! An extremely elegant multi storey cake made by the pasticceria Ramperti and covered with real flowers, the same ones I had on my bouquet!”

“The evening went on at the old village cheese factory, where Stefano Piscini and the staff of Miramonti l’Altro spoilt us with a culinary experience above all expectations!”

The Party

“After the cake it was time for the dress change, something breathtaking! The Atelier Via Donizetti has customized for me a silk flowing dress, with shoulders and the back uncovered.”
