Frequently Asked Questions for La Lista Directory Members
We’re passionate about sharing our expertise and research with our members. To help you find answers quickly and easily, we’ve gathered the most frequently asked questions in one place.
La Lista is not a standard directory. Every member is thoroughly vetted and commits to upholding our Code of Ethics. We manage vendor and client complaints fairly and efficiently through our Complaints Protocol. If a breach is verified, the member will be removed from The Directory.
Everything we do at La Lista is carefully considered, with our primary focus being the success of our Directory members and the couples they serve. Every product and initiative is designed to support, elevate, and create meaningful opportunities for those within our community.
Please see our ‘Join The Directory’ page for the most up-to-date brochure.
-
Our products are intentionally designed to complement one another. Each offering addresses specific challenges our audience has communicated, ensuring that, together, they provide a cohesive and supportive ecosystem rather than isolated solutions.
-
When joining the Directory, members are required to agree to our Terms & Conditions and Code of Ethics. Ongoing compliance is monitored through insights from the wider wedding community, alongside the honesty and transparency of our members. If a complaint is raised, it will be handled in line with our Complaints Protocol. It is important that members keep their contact details up to date so we can communicate with them efficiently when needed.

As Italian wedding planners with over a decade of experience, we often have first-hand knowledge of the vendors we recommend—having worked alongside many of them ourselves.
Our vetting process includes a combination of professional experience, industry research, and community insight. We review:
Client testimonials and online reviews
Full portfolios (not just Instagram highlights)
Feedback from our La Lista Couples Facebook Community and wider wedding planner network
Vendor websites, pricing guides, and brochures
Experience working on Italian weddings (particularly for those based outside Italy)
Professional collaborations and industry reputation
Overall presentation and positioning within the wedding industry
All vendors and venues are also required to agree to our Code Of Ethics upon signing up.
-
Vendor categories are capped to a maximum number. We intentionally keep each category compact so that every member stands out and it is easy for planning couples to navigate. For the categories that are divided into pricing brackets (e.g. Photographers, Wedding Planners) the caps are to the price brackets rather than the category as a whole. Some price brackets for some categories are currently full and we operate a waitlist – if you apply to one of these categories, you’ll receive further information about our waitlist.
We don’t currently have any caps for our venue categories - as we know from experience and from our La Lista Couple's Facebook Community, that couples search for venues on a much broader set of criteria. As so many couples have unique venue requirements, we do not want to limit the number or range available for our audience.
-
If you apply for a category or price bracket that is currently at full capacity, you will be invited to join our waitlist and may be asked to provide further information about your services and pricing. This helps us better understand your work so we can assess whether you may be a suitable fit in the future.
Please note: the waitlist is not a queue. Being on the waitlist does not guarantee entry into La Lista at any point. Instead, when spaces become available, members are selected based on how closely their work, ethos, and pricing align with our couples and the needs of the Directory at that time.
Because La Lista is intentionally compact, availability is limited and spaces only open occasionally. When they do, we review the waitlist and contact the professionals whose work is the strongest fit for current demand and our curated community.
-
The La Lista Directory is designed to deliver genuine marketing value within a highly targeted, niche audience of engaged couples actively planning weddings in Italy.
Unlike open directories, we carefully control both our audience and the quality of enquiries, meaning you are not competing for volume-based traffic, but for highly relevant, intent-driven leads. This focus on curation is what supports stronger conversion potential and return on investment for our members.
We take responsibility for attracting and directing the right couples to the right suppliers — but once enquiries are received, success depends on how effectively they are handled. Members who see the strongest results are those who respond quickly, communicate clearly, and are well-positioned to convert enquiries into bookings.
-
We offer an annual payment option only. The set up of a Directory listing and marketing promotion included happens upfront, which requires a significant investment of time and resources.
An annual structure allows us to keep pricing fair and consistent for everyone.
-
No, Directory members only pay the one-off annual membership fee. All enquiries through La Lista go directory to the member to convert.
-
With everything we do at La Lista, we aim for accessibility, transparency and fairness. The brochure prices for the Directory are non-negotiable and never discounted.
There are very rare exceptions where a member offers a brand partnership: their services offered to La Lista are equal to or more valuable than the Directory membership. On these rare occasions we may offer the membership in return for services.
-
La Lista 2.0 is our new and improved website and brand, launching Summer 2026, which will become the new home of The Directory. All existing members will be automatically transferred over to the new platform. We have analysed your feedback, the market trends and couples behaviour and the new site has been designed to make it easier for the right couples, with the right budgets, to discover and enquire with our Directory members.

Refine your enquiry process
How you handle enquiries can significantly impact conversion:
Review the email you send in response to new enquiries - ensure it’s clear, engaging, and aligned with your brand
Aim to respond promptly, as speed can influence decision-making
If you offer calls, send a calendar invite and a reminder once booked
Try to keep lead times short - if couples are waiting more than a week for a call, they may already have secured another vendor
Stay active on your own social channels, because many couples will click through before enquiring
-
As a La Lista Directory member, you also have access to exclusive advertising opportunities to promote your business across our La Lista channels. Details can be found in our brochure.
These opportunities are open exclusively to our members and are designed to:

-
Yes, we’re always happy to create tailored packages aligned with your specific goals, whether that’s increasing brand awareness, driving enquiries or promoting a particular service.
-
We really love seeing our members’ work and creativity.
We can’t collaborate on every post we’re invited to, we do occasionally approve collaboration requests at our discretion. When making this decision, we consider a few things:
How closely the content aligns with our brand look and feel
Whether it fits into our grid aesthetic (especially in relation to the posts around it)
How many La Lista vendor members are part of the vendor team
Whether the caption aligns with our brand voice and resonates with our audience
Please keep tagging us in your posts and showing us your work. We might save it and potentially feature it in our member inspiration posts or story series, and it raises our awareness of your business and current work, to share with couples and / or other vendors through our 121 products.
-
Couples are shopping around more than ever. It’s now very common for them to need to see your brand in multiple places before placing an enquiry. This may mean they found you through La Lista and needed to see your brand a few more times to then enquire through another channel.
Couples enquire with multiple vendors or venues during their decision-making process and ultimately respond to only a small number of replies.
We understand this can be frustrating, but please be reassured that this is a widespread industry pattern. It largely reflects evolving behaviours, particularly among Gen Z couples, who tend to explore more options before committing.
-
See ‘Make the most of your membership’ above.
It’s important to note that, based on our most recent Couples Questionnaire, only a small percentage of couples submit enquiries via the contact form on your La Lista Directory page.
Most couples prefer to reach out directly—either by emailing the address listed in your Key Information section or by clicking through to your website or social channels and contacting you there.
For this reason, we strongly recommend asking couples how they found you, as enquiries may not always come through the Directory submission form.
-
One of our most popular options for those looking to invest in further exposure is the Enhanced Membership Package, which has delivered strong results for many of our vendors. The combination of features provides cross-channel exposure, functioning as a cohesive mini-campaign with greater impact than a single, one-off feature.
For details of what is included in the upgraded membership, please see page 6 of the brochure for VENDORS and page 7 of the brochure for VENUES. Members can upgrade from Standard to Enhanced package at any stage of membership - please just get in touch with us by email.
-
Our wedding features are curated around our audience. We receive a very high volume of submissions and each potential feature is reviewed against a number of factors, including location, our current marketing schedule and what we know our couples are actively looking for right now.
We also prioritise work from La Lista vendor and venue members during busy seasons, while still considering non-member submissions that feel like a strong fit for our community. From there, we shape a balanced editorial calendar, ensuring we represent a range of Italian regions and types of celebration so that our wedding features feels both aspirational and representative for couples at every stage of their journey.
-
All submissions are carefully reviewed and responded to within one calendar month and then kept on file for future use. Even if your wedding isn’t selected as a full feature at the time of submission, we may use selected images or details in future editorial content – for example, in articles, newsletters, The Club resources or on our social channels – where the story is a strong fit for a particular theme or topic our audience is searching for.
We only ever use work where consent has already been granted by both the couple and the photographer, and we will always credit the creative team appropriately wherever the work appears.
If there are any copyright restrictions, licensing limitations or prohibited uses attached to your images or film, these must be clearly stated at the point of submission so that we can honour them across all of our platforms.

…
The Club and wedding planning
-
No, the Club is not and will never be a replacement for a professional wedding planner.
All content within The Club actively encourages couples to work with a professional planner. The guidance provided is designed to complement a planner’s expertise, never to compete with or contradict it. We consistently reinforce the value of hiring a professional.
-
The Club is primarily tailored for:
DIY couples
Couples working with a semi-professional or non-professional planner
It provides support and guidance while still advocating for the benefits of professional planning services.
